I am passionate about improving people’s quality of life, health and environmental impact by designing beautiful, sustainable, high-performance architecture.

I have over 20 years of experience in architecture and sustainable design. I worked for the leading UK sustainable architecture practice, Architype, for 10 years. As an associate, I was instrumental in the design and delivery of some of Architype’s seminal work (such as The Willows), as well as the UK’s largest Passive House apartment buildings and several Passive House schools.

My areas of expertise are Passive House (Passivhaus), timber construction, and environmental materials. I am a strong advocate for Building Information Modelling for sustainable design. And, I am a frequent keynote presenter and lecturer on Passive House, Sustainable Design, and BIM.

In November 2016, I returned home and formed VIA architecture to bring my extensive experience and skills in Passive House Architecture and Consultancy to NZ. I enjoy working with prospective homeowners to design their new home and I also enjoy consulting other architects and designers to help their designs achieve the Passive House standard.

More details about me can be found on my LinkedIn profile.

I also write and publish the globally recognised blog, Passivhaus in Plain English & More.
